“We show you how to stop looking at the metal building as a skeleton or stand alone building, and, instead, look at how it interacts with the entire project, from ground work to installation, to exterior and interior finishes, and how all of those things affect and are affected by the metal building.” Kevin Gatewood, Senior Estimator at Star Building Systems
School has always been a magical place. It was where you learned geometry, literature, the “i before e” rule, and how paper footballs take a certain wrist action to fly straight.
Star Builder School is actually nothing like that. During our five-day intense workshop, you may see some geometry, we might throw in a line of lit, and, if the mood strikes, a paper football may streak across the sky. The main goal of the school, however, is to equip you with tools to save you time, money, and smooth out any hiccups in your metal building projects. It’s to give you a working knowledge on builder terminology, building products, tips on metal building construction, and give you insider builder education.
Just in case you need some convincing on how great our school is, here are a few teasers on what you will be learning:
- Need a door in a certain spot that also happens to hold a braced bay? And not crazy about using an expensive portal frame to make it happen?
Our experts say not to worry, there is a better solution. Within SBS (Star Building System) there is the ability to modify how the rod bracing is done so you can get the accessory you need without using the more expensive option of portal frame.
It’s true! You’ll find out all about it at Star Builder School.
- Need to find some savings in a building and don’t know where to start?
Look at the purlin spacing. If it is less than 4’-0” on center, increase the purlin depth. That little tip will save you…oh, a few nickels.
There’s more at the Star Builder School.
- Need more cost effectiveness in your metal building?
There are ways. Other construction elements in your project, such as masonry, stud walls, glass store fronts, could be used with the metal building to earn you even more of those nickels.
It’s all at…well, you know where.
