Having a problem with materials? Need to make a modification? Whatever the problem, you’ll need to submit a claim with the manufacturer in order to fix it. Most building claims are freight/traffic, shortage, or modification claims, but whatever type of claim you’re filing, notify the manufacturer as soon as the problem occurs.
Why is this important when you submit a claim?
The manufacturer has some steps to take before they can verify your claim, things like creating a preliminary file, completing the paperwork to initiate the claim and conducting an investigation. So if you wait until completion of the project to make a claim, you’re going to be waiting even longer to get that claim verified.
With Star, early reporting allows us to file a case number, which remains with us until you send a final claim. Getting an early case number sets up a relationship between the field erector and Star, allowing us to exchange information to make certain the design certification does not get voided due to work done without authorization.
When filing a claim that has been previously approved, notify Star immediately by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. By providing a description of your issue with photos, as well as the course of action you want to take to resolve the issue, we can process the claim in as little as 24 hours from the time that we receive it.
And remember, you don’t have to have the exact monetary figure calculated when you contact us. Just contact us and describe your situation. This creates your place in the queue. The finer details can come later. Getting your place in line is the key to expedited service.
